| Before getting to my subject; I want to apologize for not being around alot recently...I've been real busy IRL, and having to spend alot of time with job searching..( sux ) Anyhow, To get to my point in this brief discussion. I wanted to bring up Accel Synchro. I'm not sure who all is familiar with it or not, but its more less a concept that stems from the 5D anime. I've had SOME free time to watch some of the newest anime episodes and from the coming booster sets..I think I can see Accel synchro monsters coming up in the near future. Currently there is one OCG Accell synchro that is un-released, and 2 packs after shining darkness, the cover card for "Star Strike Blast" will be Yusei's Accel synchro monster...with Jacks to come later on I assume. To Explain what it is for those that don't know what it is. Accel Synchro is more less the act of synching two synchro monsters together for another one. Unless the rules change in the future...one of the synchro monsters till has to be a tuner and one a non-tuner to be able to sync. ( Can assume some Tuner Synchros will be released in the future ). What is interesting about Accel synchro is that it can be preformed during your opponents turn. It is classified under spell speed 2..so you can do it during the battle phase as well. What is nice about this is....you can use this as a way to be versatile with a heavy synchro deck and sync your monsters in and out when needed. Let me show you an example of the one Accel synchro monster that has been in Jap for awhile now ( Again...note it hasn't been released ). Tech Genus Blade Gunner MAXX-10000 1 Synchro Tuner Monster + 1 or more non-Tuner Synchro Monsters This card can be Synchro Summoned during your opponent's turn. You can discard 1 card to the Graveyard to negate the activation of an opponent's Spell or Trap Card and destroy it. Once per turn, during your opponent's turn, you can remove from play this card. If this card is removed from play this way, it is returned to your side of the field during your opponent's End Phase. If this card is destroyed by battle and the monsters used in its Synchro Summon are in your Graveyard, you can Special Summon them.If all the Accel synchros have similar effects; They could be fairly useful I figure. To give some possible idea's here. Since you can do this during the opponents turn as a spell speed two ( Though how the rulings on this would work I would have to see in terms of what do you chain too,etc ), You can do this during the battle phase to protect one of your synchros, or you can sync to pervent a effect that targets,etc...like if one of your synchros get's brain controled...Accel sync them so it fizzles. Or during your turn ( Depending how chaining would work with this.. ), You could probably maybe Accel sync out of a BTH. Unfortunately the clear and present rules for this type of syncing is a bit unknown since not alot is written about it, since it is not officially a part of the game yet. I figured I would bring this up though...since in "Star Strike Blast" a Accel synchro monster is the cover card...it leads me to believe that Tech Gunner, Yusei's New dragon and Accel synchroing may become a part of the game in the near future. In Case your curious, Yusei's new Accel Synchro monster is called, "Shooting Star Dragon", but its effect's is not yet out since it hasn't been used in the anime as of yet; Though if you have seen the latest Anime episodes, you could see what it looks like at least..and a small Peek and Jacks Accel Synchro. Anyhow...I figured I would get your opinions on this and see what you think about it. | |

| I've been watching the anime and have seen the latest episode, and the Accel Synchro is definitely going to be big when it hits America.
The only thing I see wrong with it is that it requires to Synchro monsters to do it. That means you'll have to give up a lot of monsters trying to Synchro Summon two Synchro Monsters in one turn, if you wanted. Not to mention if the Synchro Rules are still in effect and the Synchro monsters are high level.

| Well oppression screws over synchro summoning in general already, so that's a given. So I wouldn't give much thought about oppression..since we deal with it already..its not a new card.
My figure is; Once they begin to release some tuner synchros ( which is probably ineviatable ), I don't see it as being overly difficult to accomplish. Being able to get out a synchro monster or two isn't too a turn isn't to hard if you have the deck and monsters for it.
As for the level requirements..I don't think that would be overlly hard either...least once you know you have to shoot for. Say the first tuner synchro is level 5...and the Accel is 10...then you know your shooting for level 5 synchros. So Junk synchron would prob be seeing some real use. Plus...once you successfully synchro summon..you can always reborn your synchro from the grave if it gets destroyed anyhow.
Either or...The concept is interesting...but its going to depend how easy they make it and what Magic/Trap support comes with it to help get out a Accel Synchro...or pull synchros out easier in general..since synchros more less dominate how the game is played to a point...and why people that don't use synchros are usualy the types that run Oppressions and Rai-oh's to stop it.

| ~ Shooting Star Dragon~ 1 Synchro Tuner Monster + "Stardust Dragon" This card can be Synchro Summoned during your opponent's turn. Once per turn, you can check the top five cards from your Deck; this card can attack as many of your opponent's monsters as the number of Tuner Monsters among those cards, then return those cards on your order. You can negate the activation of a Spell Card, Trap Card, or Effect Monster's effect that destroys a card(s), and destroy that card. Once per turn, you can remove from play this card you control to negate the attack of an opponent's monster. When this card is removed from play by this effect, it is returned to the field during the End Phase of the turn it activated this effect. Effect UnconfirmedGranted the effect is unconfirmed, but I would assume it's roughly as is. If so...then...I think I would still place this card one step behind Stardust Dragon//Assault Mode. The only positive I still find to a accel synchro monster is the fact it can simply be done during your opponents turn and or battle phase. Outside of that...the effect of the monster you get from the accel synchro seem to get 2-3 effects. Hopefully Jacks Accel monster has better effects than this card though...was actually a tad dissapointed with the effect. Oh well...lol.. | |

| Seems Jack's accel synchro is going to be called, "Scarlet Nova Dragon".
No images or anything yet as its still some ep's away before it comes up.
Overal, The whole Accel synchro thing seems interesting...but I'm not totally sure how useful its going to be in actual competitive dueling; since having two synchro monsters on the field at a time isn't seen that often...unless you run a heavy synchro deck..it happens off and on.
Who knows though... | |
